Oh it’s that time. When you start seeing the Instagram pics from the current fiber fest. I got to attend Rheinbeck for the first time this year, so there’s really no complaints, but I’m not sure I’ll ever make it to EYF, just for the fact that it’s in Scotland. Air fare and hotels are expensive. The fiance and I haven’t taken a real vacation in a couple years now, so an overseas yarn adventure is just not in the cards anytime soon. #adulting. Probably won’t go overseas again until our honeymoon in late 2020/early 2021. So what does one do when you are having all the envious feelings? Retail therapy, of course.

I was browsing patterns on Ravelry, purchased a few that have been hanging out in my cart for a while: What the Fade?!, Weekender, and a digital download of the Spring 2011 Interweave Crochet for the Dalia Shawl. There’s already yarn in my stash for the Weekender sweater and Dalia, and I do not have a large enough selection of single sock skeins to cobbled together any kind of attractive/coordinating set, so off to look at yarn! Browsed Miss Babs and Etsy, and I found the perfect mix of dark blues (blues are my colors) and neon variegated skeins in Yarn Cafe Creations’ Shop. This is going to make a fabulous What the Fade?!, or maybe a Starting Point even… So pretty, look at this beautiful yarn! It arrived this past Wednesday and made my crappy, painful day so much brighter. I think this might tide me over until Dragon Hoard Yarns releases that Dragon Ball Z inspired skein in her nerdy yarn club 😉.

This is Christy’s 85/15 Merino nylon base, and Rainbow Dash on Lurex fingering.

Not as exciting as yarn, but I also bought a set of replacement/extra cables for my Addi Clicks. I’ve been going through project bags and reclaiming the needle tops I was to lazy to put away.

Yesterday I was feeling much better, and I was able to start my Annual Intricate Beaded Crochet Shawl, 2019! After about 3 or 4 years now of entering crochet shawls into my local fair, I can’t just stop now. This might monopolize my time for a while, it uses over 1000+ yards of laceweight. And beads.

Trying my new Furls Streamline crochet hook.

Anyway, for those of you who are attending EYF, I hope you are having an amazing time!
